Insurance Coverage for varicose vein treatment

Most insurance companies have recognized saphenous reflux and painful varicose veins to be medically necessary and will often cover saphenous laser ablation and ambulatory phlebectomy if you have attempted conservative treatment for 3-6 months in the past:

  • Compression stockings
  • Exercise
  • Elevation
  • Weight control
  • Pain Management

Sclerotherapy for spider veins is considered cosmetic and is not covered by insurance companies.

Our practice will file your claim with your insurance carrier, however, the patient is responsible for the charges that are not covered.
